Introduction

In January 2017, Restorex were appointed to carry out extensive repairs and refurbishment of the external fabrics of a pair of tenement buildings, involving slating, built up flat roofing, architectural lead work, masonry and decoration.

Objectives

To work with the team leaders, in successfully repairing and restoring the external fabric of this class C listed building. It was important to carry out the full restoration process, within budget and time constraints, whilst recognising the need for minimal disruption to the residents, who were occupying the property, throughout the works.

Description

The designing, erecting and dismantling of significant areas of scaffolding, allowing access to carry out the following works.

  • Rebuilding of chimneys
  • Joinery repair and renewal
  • Full redecoration of all windows and doors
  • Extensive renewal of decorative and structural masonry
  • Overhaul of slate roof coverings
  • Installation of new high performance built up flat roofing system
  • Stripping and replacement of architectural lead work
  • Timber repairs to windows and roofs

Conclusion

Despite poor weather. We managed to complete the works on time and within the client’s budget. The project consultancy team were particularly helpful in ensuring the project was successfully completed
