Introduction

After Submitting a competitive tender, Restrorex were appointed as principal contractors to carry out the billed works package.

Objectives

To fully restore the external fabric of this large class c listed building. It was important to carry out the full restoration process, within budget and time constraints, whilst recognising the need for minimal disruption to the sitting tenants & close neighbouring business .

Description

The designing, erecting and dismantling of significant areas of scaffolding, allowing access to carry out the following works

  • Retention and repair of existing windows
  • Joinery repair and renewal to roofs
  • Extensive renewal of decorative and structural masonry
  • Overhauling off roof coverings
  • Stripping and replacement of architectural lead work
  • Timber repairs to windows and roofs
  • Repair and re-decoration to rainwater goods

Conclusion

It was a challenge to maintain tenants in residence whilst significant structural works were carried out. This was successfully achieved. Also, allowing a major restoration to progress whilst the store has been in use for the full duration of the project.
