Introduction
In January 2015, Restorex were appointed to carry out extensive repairs and conservation works of the external fabrics of this Historic building. This involved slating, architectural lead work, masonry,glazing and decorationObjectives
To work with the design team, in successfully repairing and restoring the fabric of this Historic Church . It was important to carry out the full restoration process, within budget and time constraints, whilst recognising the need for sensitive presence.Description
- Erecting and dismantling of elevation scaffolding, allowing access to carry out the following works.
- Stone replacement.
- Repointing
- Descaling
- Replacement of roof slating
- Stripping and replacement of architectural lead work
Conclusion
This project was hampered from the outset by months of inclement weather. Despite this, It was successfully completed and the building looks well for all the effort. Thanks to the Minister, the church staff and the design team were given for their help and patience throughout difficult weather conditions.
