In May 2016, Restorex were appointed to carry out extensive repairs and refurbishment of the external fabrics of this class B listed building, which was a former school. Involving slating, Timber preservation, architectural lead work, masonry and decoration.Objectives
To work with the design team, in successfully repairing and restoring the external fabric of this class B listed building. It was important to carry out the full restoration process, within budget and time constraints, whilst recognising the need for minimal disruption to the residing business. |
Description
The erecting and dismantling of elevation and chimney scaffolding, allowing access to carry out the following works.
- Stone replacement.
- Rebuilding of chimneys
- Joinery repair and renewal
- Re-decoration of windows
- Overhaul off roof coverings
- Stripping and replacement of architectural lead work
Conclusion
Despite having to work around the busy Edinburgh festival, with the Castle only yards away, project was successfully concluded in time and to the agreed budget. It was also a pleasure working alongside the design team and clients who were instrumental to the project’s success.
