Introduction

In 2018, Restorex were appointed to carry out extensive repairs and refurbishment of the external fabrics of this class B listed  building, involving masonry, slating, architectural lead work, Structural timber repairs and decoration.

Objectives

To work with the design team, in successfully repairing and restoring the external fabric of this class B listed building. It was important to carry out the full restoration process, within budget and time constraints, whilst recognising the need for minimal disruption to the Business, who were occupying  the property, throughout the works.

Description

The designing, erecting and dismantling of elevation and chimney scaffolding, allowing access to carry out the following works.

  • Wholesale areas of stone façade replacement, both structural and aesthetic
  • Rebuilding of chimneys
  • Structural timber repair and renewal
  • Re-decoration of windows
  • Overhaul off roof coverings
  • Stripping and replacement of architectural lead work

    Conclusion

    This project was successfully concluded in time and to the agreed budget. It was as challenge stripping and re-building the facades whilst the occupying business was fully operational. Careful operation planning and co-operation from the staff, delivered a great result.  It was also a pleasure working alongside the design team who were instrumental to the project’s success.
