Lead details designed around the roof, masonry and exposure

Lead valleys, gutters, flashings, soakers and chimney weatherings protect the junctions most vulnerable to water entry. Failure can result from fatigue, restricted thermal movement, inadequate falls, unsuitable bay sizes or defects in the supporting roof construction. Restorex assesses the surrounding slate, stone and timber before defining a repair.

Work may include targeted repairs or complete renewal, depending on the condition and detailing of the existing lead. New material is selected and formed for the location, with laps, fixings, joints and movement provision developed in accordance with the agreed specification and relevant lead-sheet guidance.

Restorex coordinates leadwork with slating, chimney masonry, skew details, rooflights and joinery. This multi-trade approach is valuable on traditional roofs because replacing one component without addressing adjoining defects can leave the original route of water entry unresolved.
